Every man carries a younger version of himself.
A boy who learned what was necessary to feel loved, accepted, protected or safe. A boy who adapted to the world around him in the best way he knew how.
For many men, those early adaptations continue to shape relationships, confidence, intimacy, purpose and self-worth long into adulthood.
The Boy, The Wound, The Man is a three-day initiation designed to help men understand the patterns that shaped them, reconnect with the parts of themselves they have hidden, and begin the journey towards a more grounded and mature expression of masculinity.
Every man carries a story.
Beneath the responsibilities, achievements, relationships and identities of adult life lives a younger part of us that learned how to survive. A boy who adapted to gain love, avoid rejection, stay safe, or simply make sense of the world around him.
Those adaptations often become invisible. They can appear as people pleasing, emotional shutdown, perfectionism, self-doubt, fear of intimacy, avoidance, over-responsibility or a persistent feeling of not being enough.
What once helped us survive can quietly become the thing that limits our ability to fully live.
This retreat explores three of the deepest forces that shape masculine identity: shame, the mother wound and the father wound. Through embodied practice, group process, reflection, ritual and honest brotherhood, participants are invited to understand what shaped them and reconnect with the man they are capable of becoming.

This retreat may be right for you if:
No previous experience of men's work is required. Only a willingness to engage honestly with yourself and the process.
This retreat is designed for men who are ready to look honestly at the patterns that continue to shape their lives.
You may be successful on the outside but struggling internally. You may notice recurring challenges in relationships, difficulties with intimacy, unresolved anger, a lack of direction, feelings of shame, or a persistent sense that something important has never been fully addressed.
Across three carefully guided days, the retreat creates a structured journey from awareness to understanding and ultimately to integration.
The intention is not to fix the man. The intention is to help him remember who he was before the wound, understand how the wound shaped him, and reconnect with the man he is capable of becoming.

This is a deeply experiential retreat.
Throughout the three days participants engage in embodied practices, nervous system work, breathwork, reflection, group process, ritual and brotherhood.
The focus is not on intellectual understanding alone. The work is designed to be felt, experienced and integrated through the body.
Participants are invited to move beyond analysis and into direct experience, supported by a group of men committed to honesty, presence and growth.
This work can be powerful because it touches some of the deepest aspects of personal history and identity.
All processes are guided with care, clear boundaries, consent and respect for individual choice.
No participant is ever forced to share or engage beyond what feels appropriate. Each man is encouraged to work at a pace that honours both challenge and safety.
The intention is to create an environment where truth can emerge without judgement and where genuine transformation can occur through support rather than pressure.
Part of a Larger Journey
Many men arrive here because they want to understand the deeper patterns that have shaped their relationships, confidence and sense of self.
For some, this exploration begins with shame, the mother wound and the father wound. Understanding these experiences can bring clarity to behaviours, beliefs and survival strategies that have been operating beneath the surface for years.
As the work deepens, another question often emerges:
Who am I becoming beyond these patterns?
For men who feel called to continue their journey, Samyama also offers The Return, a seven-day rite of passage exploring the archetypal path of the Lover, Warrior, Magician and King.
Many of the themes explored in The Return are already present here. Likewise, aspects of shame, identity and personal history often arise during The Return itself. These retreats are not separate paths but different doorways into the same deeper exploration of self.
There is no correct sequence.
Only the next step that feels right for you.
By the end of the retreat, the intention is not that you become a different man.
The intention is that you see yourself more clearly.
Participants often leave with a deeper understanding of the patterns that have shaped their lives, greater self-awareness, a more compassionate relationship with themselves, and practical tools for creating meaningful change.
Most importantly, they leave with a clearer sense of responsibility for the man they choose to become.
The journey begins with the boy.
It moves through the wound.
It returns to the man.

Turning back toward the earlier self — the one who first learned to protect, adapt and go quiet.

Meeting the early imprints of nurture and absence — how they still shape closeness, worth and belonging.

Facing the questions of approval, protection and permission — what was given, what was missing.

Standing as the grounded adult — carrying what has been met, without the old weight determining the way.
