    Private Couples Retreat

Time, Attention and Honesty — for the Two of You

Three full retreat days · four nights · entirely private

Most Relationships Do Not Lack Love

Most relationships do not lack love. They lack time, attention and the conditions in which honesty is actually possible.

Life fills quickly. Work, children, family, logistics and tiredness gradually take up the space where conversation used to happen. Difficult subjects get postponed. Patterns settle in. Two people who care deeply about each other can end up managing a relationship rather than living one.

A Private Couples Retreat creates three days entirely outside that. No group. No shared timetable. No performing for anybody else. Just the two of you, held carefully, with skilled facilitation and enough space for what is actually true.

You do not need to be in crisis to deserve this kind of attention.

Some couples come because something has broken and needs honest attention. Others come because nothing is obviously wrong, but something has quietly gone quiet.

The work is not about deciding who is right. It is about understanding what each of you is actually experiencing, and what the relationship is asking for now.

    How the work is held

Neither of You Is the Problem

The most important principle in this retreat is that neither person arrives as the one who needs fixing.

Couples work can quickly become an argument with a referee. We are not interested in that. We are interested in the pattern the two of you create together — how it begins, what each of you feels when it does, and what each of you is protecting.

Where it is useful, individual sessions run alongside shared work. Sometimes one person needs space for something that has never been said out loud before it can be spoken between you.

Honesty becomes possible when neither person is on trial.

    Morning

    Beginning in the Body, Together

Each day begins with a 90-minute embodied practice designed for two people.

Relationship is not only a conversation. It is breath, nervous system, touch, proximity and timing. Before words, we begin to notice what happens in the body when you are close, when you are misunderstood, when you soften and when you brace.

No previous yoga experience is needed. The practice is gentle and adapted to both of you.

    Midday

    Facilitated Couples Work

At the centre of each day are two hours of facilitated work, divided into two sessions with space between them.

There is no fixed curriculum. The work follows what is actually present between you. Sometimes it moves slowly, uncovering the histories each of you brought into the relationship. Sometimes something long avoided becomes speakable within an hour.

The facilitation is careful. Nobody is pushed into disclosure, and nothing is forced towards resolution simply because there are three days available.

Depending upon the couple, this may include

    • Communication and being heard
    • Recurring arguments and the pattern beneath them
    • Trust and repair
    • Intimacy and desire
    • Resentment and unspoken hurt
    • Boundaries and needs
    • Individual histories and family patterns
    • Parenting and shared responsibility
    • Work, time and attention
    • Grief, loss and change
    • What each of you actually wants next

    Afternoon

Rest as Part of the Work

Each afternoon includes 90 minutes of Yoga Nidra and nervous system regulation.

Relational work creates activation. Two people can spend years reacting to each other's dysregulation without ever recognising it as such. Learning to settle — individually and in each other's presence — is part of the learning.

Nothing is required of you here. The body is simply given time to process what has emerged.

    Evening

    Remembering Enjoyment

Every evening includes a curated restorative experience.

This part of the retreat matters more than it may first appear. Couples who have been working through something difficult can forget that pleasure, ease, humour and simple shared enjoyment are also part of the relationship.

The evenings are not sessions. They are experiences — good food, quiet, warmth and time together with nothing to resolve.

    This may include

    • Sound Healing
    • Reiki
    • Therapeutic Massage for two
    • Meditation
    • Breathwork
    • Fire Circle
    • Other Samyama experiences

    Final Evening

    Water Ceremony

The retreat closes with a Water Ceremony on the final evening — a shared moment to acknowledge what has been seen, what you are willing to let go of and what you want to carry forward together.

Three days do not resolve a relationship. What they can do is change the conversation the two of you are able to have from here.

    Who Is This Retreat For?

    This retreat may resonate if

    • You love each other but keep arriving at the same argument
    • Something has happened and you want to understand it honestly rather than bury it
    • Communication has become careful, distant or reactive
    • Intimacy or connection has quietly faded
    • You are entering a transition — marriage, parenthood, relocation, loss or a new chapter
    • You are not in crisis but want dedicated time and honest attention
    • You want private work rather than a group couples programme

Both people need to be willing to attend. Nobody is brought here to be corrected.
