A two-hour lunar practice weaving Yin Yoga, optional acupuncture, Yoga Nidra and live sound — a gradual journey from movement into stillness and from effort into deep rest.

All events at Samyama are sober events

There are times when the body asks us to stop.

Not to escape from life, but simply to become quiet enough to notice what is happening beneath its constant movement.

Lunar Yin & Pins is a two-hour lunar practice bringing together Yin Yoga, acupuncture, Yoga Nidra and live sound in a gradual journey from movement into stillness, and from effort into deep rest.

You do not need to arrive calm, flexible or prepared. There is nothing to perform and nowhere particular to get to.

    Simply come as you are.

    The Journey

The experience begins on the mat with a slow sequence of long-held Yin Yoga postures. Rather than pushing further into a pose, you will be invited to soften into each shape at your own pace, giving the body time to settle and attention an opportunity to turn inward.

Tibetan and crystal singing bowls accompany the practice, allowing sound to become a gentle thread running through the experience.

As the Yin sequence comes to an end, movement gradually gives way to stillness. Settled into a final restorative position, you will have the option to receive acupuncture from a qualified Doctor of Acupuncture. Drawing on Traditional Chinese Medicine and the body's meridian system, carefully selected points complement the physical sequence that has preceded them.

Acupuncture is entirely optional. You are equally welcome to remain resting without receiving needles.

From here, you will be guided into Yoga Nidra, sometimes described as yogic sleep: a practice of conscious rest in which the body is invited toward sleep while awareness remains gently present.

Eventually, even the guidance falls away. The final part of the experience becomes an extended sound bath, allowing you simply to lie down, listen and receive.

Nothing to achieve. Nothing to work out. Just time to be still.

Afterwards, tea will be available for anyone who would like to stay for a while, connect with others, or simply take their time returning to the rest of their day.

    Who This Is For

Lunar Yin & Pins is for anyone who feels the need to slow down. You might be carrying a busy mind, feeling physically tired, moving through a demanding period, or simply curious about what happens when several deeply restorative practices are allowed to work together.

You do not need previous experience of yoga, meditation, acupuncture or sound healing. You do not need to be flexible. And you do not need to know how to relax.

The practice begins wherever you are.
