An evening of mantra, music, and community held in solidarity with World Mental Health Day.
Samyama Self Healing Center is hosting Kirtan with Diana & Friends on Thursday, October 8th — a call-and-response chanting gathering open to everyone, regardless of experience.
Diana leads the evening alongside a small ensemble on harmonium, guitar, mridanga, and karatals, guiding the room from quiet, meditative repetition into rhythm, movement, and celebration.
The Practice
About the Evening
Kirtan is a practice of call and response chanting: a lead voice offers a line of mantra, and the room sings it back. There is no audience here — everyone in the room is a participant, whether singing fully, humming quietly, sitting in stillness, or simply listening.
You do not need to know the words. You do not need to be able to sing. The invitation is simple: listen to the melody, join when you feel ready, and let the music carry you.
Come exactly as you are. Sing, dance, sit in meditation, listen quietly, or simply enjoy being part of the community. There is no performance and no expectation — just an invitation to show up and know you are not alone in showing up.
Why We're Gathering
Why This Matters
World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to bring mental health into open conversation, challenge stigma, and remind people that support and connection matter.
A space full of people breathing and chanting together is, in its own way, a physical expression of that same message. This gathering is held in solidarity with the wider community and in support of accessible mental health care in Bali.
Our Partner
Bali Bersama Bisa Foundation

A portion of proceeds from this evening goes to Bali Bersama Bisa Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to de-stigmatizing mental health and providing a vital support network in Bali.
With the motto "Together We Can," the foundation offers free and accessible services for mental health and addiction recovery.
Their work spans a free outpatient community program, free counseling with clinical psychologists and addiction counselors, daily peer support groups, holistic activities like movement and creative workshops, and public outreach into schools and communities across Bali. All of it is offered at no cost, to both Indonesian citizens and foreign residents, in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Samyama is proud to put its platform behind an organization doing this work locally, and to help more people in the community find their way to it.
