The practice:

The practice of Samyama can be very subtle as it often does not imply constant efforts but consistency and determination in surrender. It can be practiced towards an external object of attention for example a symbol such as the OM or a Yantra but it could also be the picture of a Saint or Master of your choice to whom you might perceive adoration, inspiration or devotion. It could be a sacred text or the essential reminder of a quote or poem of inspiration but could be also be internal object such the flow of breath as the underlying unifying essence of this life, it could be a Mantra or it could be the sense of stillness itself which underlies the nature of all objects of attentions and attention itself. Samyama could be practiced also on a Yoga mat during a posture in full recognition of the miracle and beauty of existence and the grace of life. 

The main importance here is the purity of your intention and a practice with blind faith without analytical understanding.

Integrating Samyama into our daily routines can pave the way for a more meaningful and purposeful existence. Here are a few practical ways to incorporate this transformative practice into our lives:

Practice Samyama while eating, by channelling your attention to the flavours, textures, and sensations involved. Fully immerse yourself in the present moment, fostering a deeper connection with your body and the nourishment it receives by cultivation stillness in daily actions.

3. Work and Creativity:

Apply Samyama to enhance your focus and creativity while engaged in work or creative endeavours. Choose a specific aspect to concentrate on and direct your energy toward it. By doing so, you harness the power of Samyama to achieve a state of flow, where productivity flourishes naturally without being the aim.

4. Reflective Practice:

Before bedtime, engage in Samyama to reflect on your day, acknowledging areas of experience without judgement, setting new intentions for the following day and allowing more spaciousness and creativity to keep flowing.
